1/20/05 Doing better

I didn't start off very good today. I went short at 117775, 117825 and 117900. I covered at 118275. Not very good. Then I sat there and tried to figure out which way this market was going to go!

A little after 10:00 I started selling again... 118175, and I covered at 118000. Still not even but I'm closer. I have to help my Brother move some equipment and have lunch so I come back just before 2:00

I start selling just at the 2:00 hop. 117900 average... and the market hops up again so I sell another round at 117975. I covered all contracts at 117625. I end up in the good! I new the market was going to sell off later in the day, especially as there was little strength at 2:00 cst. 1 hour before the close. It was a good day.

1/19/05 last week wasn't good

I didn't do much last week and the little that I did do was a desaster! Jan 11th was a down day by $201 and Jan 12 was down $625! The 13th was -$101.

I didn't trade this week until today. Up $1124. OK it helps but I still need a ton of work. I was more intentional today. I knew when to add to my positions on the short side and I was very patient. I was long off the bat and lost $100. The I went short a total of 4 eminis. Everytime the market would pull back I would sell another position. I averaged 119275 for the first 3 contracts and then 119200 on the last one. I covered at 118650 I think. I sold a new contract every time the market would tick up. I would sell into what little strenght there was and It was very effective. I am better trading with the trend. Only do tic trades with the market... not against!

1/5/05 A short day but OK

On Wed I had to be out most of the day as I will be out all of the rest of this week due to other obligations. I will be returning all of next week and boy do I have a lot of work to do.

I didn't have much going on in the morning and I wasn't around for the continued decline in the PM. That's OK. I can't do it all. Here are the trades...

643 b sp @ 119025
729 s sp @ 119025 Had to leave before the trade was profitable so I just closed it. I finally came back home and finished the day early.

900 b sp @ 119225
925 s sp @ 119250. Not much but it helps

930 b sp @ 119150
938 b sp @ 119025 Market declines
1026 s 2 sp @ 119175

1026 s 2 sp @ 118875. I sold 2 contracts from a stop that I didn't cancel and I didn't know that I sold them. I didn't end up the day even because of these trades! I was short over night and didn't know it until Thursday morning. The market was down so I was OK but It was a very stupid thing to not check that I was even before I had to leave. That is the 3rd time I have done that (net profitable but still stupid)

526 b 2 sp @ 118625 This was the cover on Thursday morning. Check these things!!!!

1033 b 5 sp @ 119000 Trying to make something out of nothing. I am trading too much and increasing size when I really have no business doing so. I just wanted to make something before I left. This was a stupid trade because there was no catalyst to make it other than I wanted profits! Stop doing this!!!!!

1037 s 5 @ 119050 Got lucky. Ended positive.

Talk to you guys next week

1/4/05 This is too easy!

I'm going to say right now that this is beginners luck. I do know that I'm getting better on reading the market trend and using the Tick and Tiki when I'm trading but today was too easy. I expect many worse, losing days ahead.

I started off thinking that we were going to close the gap from yesterdays close. Going on that assumption, I was short all the way to the gap, then I covered. I went short again, and covered on the close. Here are the trades

822 s sp @ 120700
847 s sp @ 120625
901 s 3 sp @ 120575 The market rallied back but I had my stop in at 120875 a little above the overnight high. At this point I'm short 5 contracts that rallied so I was under water on all 5. I held strong where my temptation was to cover and just get out. The Tick never really showed much strength so I held firm on my stop.

1015 b 5 sp @ 120250. The market had a little rally as I was about to leave to take care of some errands I had to run. I was going to be out for several hours. The market ticked up a few and I was out.

1050 s 1 sp @ 120200. I was getting ready to leave and I noticed more weakness. The tick was going negative. I sold and set the stop above the most recent 5 min bar high... 120450

1449 b 1 sp @ 119000. I came back about 20 minutes before the close and the market never hit my stop. I was doing OK. I was watching the market and it looked very flat before the close so I just took my trade off the table.

I think today I was $1 short of $1500! I would say it was a record for me!

Tomorrow I will try to figure out which way the market is going to go and then trade in that direction. Remember yesterday? I was trying to trade against the trend all day and I wasn't getting anywhere until I go hit in the head several times the the market was going down. Then I started shorting. I have to remember not to be so stubborn in the future!

I need to look at some bond setups! That is my goal for next week.

1/3/05 Well, I'm off to a good start

Today started out like the day from hell but after I bashed my head in several times by going the wrong direction on the SP's I finally got the hint!

906 b 2 sp @ 121475
907 b 1 sp @ 121500. Great, just as the market is getting ready to drop
918 s 3 sp @ 121275. Log my first lose for the year. One thing to note.

As I've been watching the Tick and I noticed that unless it really gets up (or down) there it doesn't just tells us that we are trending. Unless it gets over 1000 or so it is likely to continue in the same direction. If it gets over 1000 then it tells us that the market might be out of wack. That's when you need to watch for a reversal. I need to start looking for another reversal sign. MACD or an oscillator. Need to look into that.

922 b sp @ 121350
927 s sp @ 121175

935 s sp @ 121100
939 b sp @ 121075 Man, I wish I had held on to this one longer. Of course the market rallied back to 121200 after this trade so unless I had balls to hang on (read no) I would have gone out at a loss.

939 b sp @ 121100
952 b sp @ 121150
1003 s sp @ 120975 When am I going to learn

1006 b sp @ 120850
1100 s sp @ 121100 finally a good trade. Just wait till you see what's next!

1103 s sp @ 121025
1225 s sp @ 120675
1226 s sp @ 120550 This trade took forever but I finally learned that the market was going down

1457 b 2 sp @ 120275. This trade made my day!

12/31/04 I finally pulled a good day out of nothing

I had nothing doing in the AM but a little channel trade... but Oh BABY did I clean up in the PM!

927 s sp @121650
1029 b sp @121600 Like I said, it was a very slow morning.

1316 sold 3 sp @121675, market kept rallying
1318 s 2 sp @121700, and the market kept rallying.... story of my life...so what do I do? Add more contracts!
1324 s 5 sp @121775. It keeps going to 1219 and change! Boy was I sweating but I had my stop 3 points above my first entry and I stuck to it. It didn't hit. The market took more than an hour before the pre New-Year terror worry sell off. I finally covered

1440 b 10 sp @121650. Now the market just keeps falling. I could have cleaned up big TIME!! I was happy with what I got. Market ended at 121150 for the year.

So I have been printing off my daily trades and I decided over the New Year weekend to finally sit down and add up my gains/losses. I have only really been doing this since the second week of Dec. I have only been keeping my daily printouts since Dec 16th. I only had 6 trading days to look at since I was gone for the Holidays and had a day or two that I didn't trade.

I added up all my gains and losses and my last trade of the year put me in the profits by $97! I have to say that I was a little surprised to see I was in the + column. I really expected to lose a grand or two. I will take what I can take and I will take that! I have noticed that the last week my trades have been much better in the SP and I really need to concentrate on the Bonds. My largest losses were Bond trades. I am going to really review my Bond rules so I really know what I should be doing rather than just guessing. OK That's it. It is Sunday night and I will prepare my Market Scan for tomorrow, or at least what I can do tonight so I have less to do in the AM. Happy trading in 05!!!!!!! See you tomorrow.
